As one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation, Eugene is full of plenty of hot spots for food, drink and entertainment that are within a 10-minute bike ride from the University of Oregon campus. We found five fun spots that we highly recommend you add to your next off-campus bicycle adventure.

Tailored Coffee Roasters

Located behind Fifth Street Market, just in front of the train tracks, Tailored Coffee Roasters is the perfect spot to grab a coffee or pastry, or set up shop and study for a day. The décor is minimal, mostly black and white, and hip-hop plays softly in the background. They also sell coffee by the pound, both in-store and online, as well as a few mugs and shirts.

Buffalo Exchange

Down the street from Tailored Coffee, Buffalo Exchange is a thrift store of the highest order. Make sure to raid your own closet first! You can trade in your clothes for cash or store credit, and their buyers are often generous. Buffalo has everything from high fashion to your next ugly sweater, and often buys new clothes from brands as well.

David Minor Theatre

If you’ve never been here, you’re missing out on a movie experience that’s even better than your couch. David Minor has comfortable chairs (couches in the front row!), delicious meals you can eat at your seat, several screens and a wide variety of movies. Over 21? The theatre also has beer on tap from breweries such as Ninkasi and Hop Valley, and wine for purchase.

Jazzy Ladies Cafe and Coffeehouse

Craving some biscuits and gravy, or perhaps one of Grandma’s cinnamon rolls? Jazzy Ladies Cafe and Coffeehouse fits that bill. Located off of Eighth Avenue and Willamette Street, it is not too far from campus nor is it a long way home to ride back with a full stomach. Take your friends, family or even just yourself to escape the stress of the term and simply… enjoy yourself.

The Vintage

The Vintage is a restaurant in downtown Eugene. At first glance, it might look like somebody’s home, but it is actually a restaurant. The Vintage is well known for their delicious brunch options and chocolate fondue. The restaurant is consistently featured in Eugene Weekly’s “Best of Eugene”.
